This Privacy Policy explains how You Maritime Services ("YMS", "we", "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data when you visit you-maritimeservices.com, contact us, apply for a position, or do business with us. YMS is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and handles personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to deliver our services:

• Contact enquiries. Name, company, email address, phone number and the message you send through our contact form or by email.
• Career applications. Name, contact details, CV, certificates, sea-service records, rank, availability and any other information you choose to send when applying through our Careers page or by email.
• Business records. Contact details of people at client, supplier, agent and principal companies, and the documents that normally accompany ship management, crewing, agency and logistics work.
• Website usage. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, time of visit). If we use an analytics service, it may set cookies to measure traffic; you can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
• Social media. If you interact with our LinkedIn page or other business pages, we see the public information and messages that platform shows to page administrators.

• To answer your enquiry and prepare a proposal.
• To assess a career application and, where relevant, to arrange training, documentation and deployment.
• To perform and document a service contract, including the records required by flag states, port states, classification societies and insurers.
• To keep in touch about services you have asked about. We do not send marketing to people who have not dealt with us.
• To run and secure our website.
• To meet legal, regulatory, sanctions and maritime-safety obligations.

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with parties needed to deliver our services: ship owners and managers, manning and training providers, ports, agents, surveyors and insurers involved in a specific job; our IT, email and hosting providers; professional advisers; and authorities where the law requires it. Each receives only what is needed for their part of the work.

Shipping is global. Where personal data leaves the UAE, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to UAE law, including contractual safeguards with the receiving party.

Enquiries that do not lead to business are kept for up to 24 months. Career applications are kept for up to 24 months so we can consider you for future berths, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Transaction and crewing records are kept for as long as maritime, tax and company law requires, then deleted or anonymised.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls and encrypted connections to our website. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

You may ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict its use, or withdraw consent. Write to info@you-maritimeservices.com. We will respond within the time the law allows. You may also complain to the UAE Data Office.

Our services are for businesses and for professional seafarers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
